3 Practical Disciplined Software Projects! Faster, Sustainable Approach, Green & a POC in 2 Days

Last week, Luca Pedrazzini, our Managing Director, was one of eight speakers at Codemotion’s annual CTO event in Milan, attended by over 50 companies and more than 250 decision-makers.

His talk, titled “Artificial Intelligence is Changing Application Development and Modernization!”, prompted us to reflect on how far we’ve come since AI began reshaping Software Engineering.

To better share our own evolution since then, we briefly selected one project from each year: 2023, 2024, and 2025.
From using AI to generate simple code snippets to delivering a Proof of Concept (POC) for a client in just two days. Three practical projects that perfectly demonstrate how rapidly the technology’s value has grown in less than two years, pushing the boundaries to help us and our clients innovate while mitigating the risks that typically accompany software development projects. Time, cost, requirements verification, contractualization, and more.

Carefully chosen, diverse, and substantial enough to highlight the increased value. These projects maintain a disciplined, multidisciplinary approach, across all the lifecycle, involvers and specializations.

Case 1 – Stroodle – 2023

Before & after

One of our own 35 internal software solutions was refactored in just a few weeks, thanks to AI.

  • A major code refactoring based largely on generative AI.

Case 2 – Roomenta – 2024

Before & after

Office kiosk tablet modernization project implemented in 1 day. Another software product used internal by us, SORINT.lab.

  • Project entirely based on artificial intelligence, from approach to coding.
  • Frontend and backend: 100% generated by AI (React, Python, Go)

Sustainability – AI suggested

  • Switch to microcontroller programming, instead of always-on tablets
  • Drastic energy reduction
  • Sustainable hardware and software redesign
  • 200-day life cycle simulated by AI per charge

Significant cost savings, much less expensive than traditional tablets.

  • Tablet replacement was already due according our procurement’s procedures.
  • Total cost of approximately €50 per device (development, management, electricity, hardware)

Caso 3 – Marvin – 2025

POC phase

Marvin, a system that will serve as a central hub for all consultation and meeting activities, ensuring that processes are organized, consistent, and easily trackable. Fully customized to meet client’s specific needs. For a better understanding of the project’s scope:

Traditional Approach (Without AI)

  • Custom Software Development Project.
  • The traditional approach estimates 20 days for POC delivery.

The Team Involved

  • 1 part-time UX/UI designer.
  • 1 part-time PO.
  • 4 full-time developers (2 front-end and 2 back-end).

Implementation Timeframe – 13 Weeks

  • (1 week of setup + 6 2-week sprints)

The Effort

  • 170 days for 4 senior profiles

But, Using an Innovative AI Approach

  • POC was delivered in 2 business days!
  • Rich in multidisciplinary value. All stakeholders involved: technicians, POs and UX.
  • Vibe coding regulated. (A creative, and human-centered approach for coding and creating digital experiences)
  • With minimal effort, specifications were verified, with client’s team.
  • Estimates, cost and timeframe, were reevaluated and reduced significantly.
